Out in the West Texas Town of El Paso

September 29, Las Cruses to El Paso
We traveled through canopies of pecan orchards and fields of ripe cotton and passed through old border towns ripe with history.  We expected a big Welcome to Texas sign but o guess they save that for the freeway.  Instead, we got inundated by the infamous black flies when we paused by the roadside. Yikes! Never seen the like so we got scootin’

We rode into El Paso singing the Marty Robbin’s song, “El Paso.”  We found out on our way out of town that there really is a Rose’s Cantina. Have to catch it next time.  Paul and I Ubered to Keystone Heritage Park and followed up with a memorable Mexican feast.  It was 23 miles more of El Paso in the morning (1/2 million people). A big group from the EP Cyclists club happened upon us at our break – it was like a party!  Great visiting and well wishes.
