One of the biggest treats on the bicycle is encountering local wildlife (from a safe distance as applicable). A whole passle of Javelinas thundered across the road in front of us as we made our way to the McDonald Observatory. We're seeing quite a few Road Runners (cute!), and got to watch a tarantula crawling across the grass at the observatory. There are loads of wonderful birds including the faithful Turkey Vultures.
