Catch a Falling Star

Davis mountains
I loved this lone wild sunflower against the backdrop of mountains.
Dry camp was actually lovely with no privation of coffee thanks to my sherpa hubby packing waterπŸ’•
We started our day from Van Horn at 6:30 a.m. in a new time zone with complete darkness. Beginning with 20 miles on a quiet road with good lights under a brilliantly lit star filled sky was remarkable.  Right out of the gate, I saw a shooting star - a definite first on the  bicycle!

Next we had 20 easy freeway miles which was lucky because we were in for a steady 30 mile climb through the beautiful Davis mountains to our dry camp at a picnic area before the McDonald Observatory.
